A goodly crowd of some sixty folks, mostly regular STARS members but with a few newcomers, gathered at STARS Central, Waverley House, for the 2014 program launch on a beautiful Willunga afternoon.

After the usual socialising, Carolyn introduced Cathy Phillips who gave an eye-opening belly dance performance. Then followed Minas Berberyan and his wife Erna who played four lovely violin duets, with explanations of their origins and styles.

Then as usual, to lower the tone came Wayne Anthoney who gave a demonstration of time travel for a chicken, with his recently built miniature Tardis time machine. He said that if it works consistently he plans to build a full size version, hop in it, travel back to 1933 and assassinate Adolf Hitler.

The STARS committee then sang a rousing version of "Would You Like To Swing With A Star", words adapted by Tess Driver, and STARS was open for business for another year of artistic endeavour.

Greg John spoke briefly about the Greg Trott pipe organ restoration fund.

Thanks to the Nancy and the other galley slaves in the kitchen for the hors d'oeuvres, excellent as always, to Brian Maple for taking photos and to Murray Young for manning the bar.
