STARS launched the 2012 programme entitled "Its Showtime" on Sunday February 5 where a large audience heard Barbara George, CEO of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, highlight the main events for the year and then were entertained by local group Dance Xtreme and mezzo soprano Catriona Barr.

STARS committee is looking forward to an entertaining year and the Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 13 March at 6.30 pm. Musica Viva school programme director Veronica Aldridge will be the guest speaker and STARS invites interested parties and members to attend.


Co-Opera company will present Cosi Fan Tutte on Sunday March 18 and bookings are filling for this annual event. The first art exhibition for the year will be held on Saturday 31 March at 6.30 pm to be opened by local identity Russell Jeavons. The artists are Adrienne Gill with Annie Kidman and the tango-inspired paintings will be entitled "An Intimate Space". Adrienne and her husband are Tango Dance teachers and the exhibition will be included in the Tango Festival to be held in the local area with performances in McLaren Vale and a milonga (tango dance party) at Waverley Homestead during the exhibition.
